What makes daddy start this blog?

Hi all,

Some self intro to start off with. I am a typical dad in Singapore who is so, as my son described, “hard up” about the education of our next generation. My older boy did his PSLE in 2015 and did quite well. Thanks to his hard work and mine too.

You must be asking why am l blogging about it now. Ha guess what? I have a five years old of a totally different character who will be taking the same examination in 7 years time. But the examination will be different by then, you may say. No, just think about it: if the exam did not change much for the past 30 over years since I took it in 1983, what you think will make it change within the next 7 years.

Whether they use T-Score or Achievement Levels (AL), it is still “change soup never change ingredients” – 换汤不换药。The children will still be as stressed out. The parents will still be as “kiasu”.

So why this blog at this time. Really, just wanted to share some personal experiences about PLSE which is so close to every parents heart. And to solicit experiences from parents’ out there to prepare my 5 years old for his fight in 7 years time. Kiasu, right?

PS: T-Score or Achievement Levels (AL) actual got quite a bit of different which I will share in my future blog.
